Designer MIKE HOLMES MAGAZINE
Design, art research & assignment, and help to create service text points for DIY-focused print home magazine, produced 10 times a year to support HGTV program of the Mike Holmes brand name.
Art Director WOMAN’S DAY MAGAZINE
Oversaw day-to-day management of art & photo departments (3-5 people) for national women’s service magazine: circulation 4+ million. Worked closely with Creative Director, Editor in Chief and 7 Editorial departments to produce 17 issues per year. Handled art direction of editorial pages (food, decorating & crafts, beauty, fashion, health, celebrity & real people stories, etc.), executed covers and redesigns, created visual and editorial concepts for marketing initiatives, art directed photo shoots & provided on-set styling, reviewed color corrections and page proofs.
Teamed on: DAM Library (Digital Asset Management): Collaborated with development team on creation of image library for WD and company-wide use.
Halloween Celebrations: Art directed and managed all aspects of newsstand-only SIP. Created type palette and visual concepts for features & columns, supervised and styled photo shoots, collaborated on pacing, and production follow-up. WD Favorite Home Plans: Designed and art directed all edit pages, including cover design, for quarterly, newsstand, home builder magazine. womansday.com: Oversaw & executed initial design/template for online presence.
Art Editor GLAMOUR MAGAZINE
Responsible for all aspects of art direction & design of features & monthly articles, and redesigned & developed new formats for columns for this high profile, national, women’s service magazine focusing on fashion & beauty, lifestyle, health, decorating and food (over 2.5 million circulation).
Art Director OVATION MAGAZINE
Managed all aspects of art direction (including a redesign) of this monthly magazine devoted to classical music, which included individual program guides for affiliated stations in the 50 states. Supervised photography (including research and celebrity shoots), freelancers, production, color correction, pagination, and budgets.
Associate Art Director WORKING WOMAN MAGAZINE
Art directed, designed, assigned photography and illustrations for columns, monthly features and supplements of this ground-breaking magazine focused on managerial women in business. Production follow-through included maintaining styles, reviewing page proofs and color correcting images for issue make-up..
